What is Levofloxacin?

Levofloxacin during pregnancy and breast-feeding
There is no data proving Levofloxacin ability to harm a fetus, still pregnant patients should not take the drug without seeing a doctor.
Breast-feeding women should not breast-feed while on the treatment, or should not take the drug at all as it passes into the milk and may harm a baby.
Levofloxacin: peculiarities of taking the drug
Levofloxacin should be taken with a glass of water. Tablets may be taken with food or independently. Liquid Levofloxacin is taken orally on empty stomach 1 hour before meal/2 hours after meal.
Once you missed your dose, take it as remembered or skip if it’s almost the time for the next one.
Never take double doses. If you overdosed, you may have such symptoms as decreased activity, tremors, drooping eyelids, seizure, loss of balance / coordination, sweating, trouble breathing or weakness. Call an ambulance in case of overdose.
The med may cause severe side effects like sudden pain, pounding heartbeat, watery /bloody diarrhea, confusion, severe dizziness, unusual thoughts / behavior, swelling, severe headache, hallucinations, bruising / bleeding, fever, vision problems, nightmares or insomnia, depression, upper stomach pain, tremors, jaundice, dark urine, ringing in your ears, clay-colored stools, etc.

Once you get Levofloxacin 500 mg, 700 mg or 250 mg in tablets, store them at room temperature. If you have liquid Levofloxacin, you may store it in the fridge, but make sure it won’t freeze.
